indian head massage

Indian head massage is a relaxing holistic treatment that uses acupressure massage on the head, face, neck and shoulders. An ancient therapeutic treatment which has been practiced in India for thousands of years, it aims to rebalance your body’s energies using a variety of pressures and techniques that tap into your chakras (energy paths) to encourage healing and rebalance in your whole body.Treatment can provide instant relief from tension and stress symptoms and induce a state of calm, peace and tranquillity whilst improving alertness and concentration.

Benefits include:

  • Boosting the circulatory, muscular and nervous systems
  • Relieving muscular tension and relaxing connective tissue
  • Stimulating arterial circulation, increases venous and lymphatic flow
  • Reducing stress and pain
  • Stimulating the skin and underlying nerve endings
  • Helping the elimination of accumulated toxins in the body

Additionally, the use of fragrant oils during the treatment can stimulate as well as relax you, allowing you to have a clearer head and feel completely soothed afterwards.

Swedish Back & Full Body Massage

Swedish massage is the foundation for other types of massage, and is based on the Western concepts of anatomy and physiology as opposed to energy work on meridian lines.

The treatment is a deep pressure massage which concentrates on relieving stress and tension in the back, neck and shoulders, helping to soothe tight or painful muscles and relieve the build-up of tension nodules.

Baby Massage classes

The next baby massage course starts on Thursday 14th September at West Worthing Baptist Church. The course runs from 10:30-11:30 on Thursday mornings for 4 weeks.

Develop the bond you have with your baby through massage. Learn how to massage your baby to aid sleep, digestion, colic and constipation. Massaging your baby will benefit both your baby and you, and can support parents with post-natal depression. You will become more confident in handling your baby and the massage can also help with breastfeeding, as you and your baby become calmer and more relaxed. Baby massage can also help premature babies’ growth and development (though is often not recommended until your baby has reached their due date), as well as allowing you to meet other mums and babies in the Worthing area.

Babies communicate with their world through touch, and massaging our babies is an extension of the natural human impulse to soothe through touch. Babies from 6 weeks old will benefit from massage, as by this age they will be able to cope with the environment around them without finding it too overwhelming. Baby massage is particularly useful for those with special needs, as it provides a unique way of communication and soothing.
